Project title: Support for the elaboration of the implementation plan for the Kafue Fishery Management Plan (KFMP)
The project is expected to start as soon as the expert is recruited (final date to be agreed with the Department of Fisheries) and will be implemented during a period of 4 months.Global price contract of EUR 9.800

In recognition of the pivotal role of the Regional Economic Bodies and Regional Fisheries Bodies in contributing to global fisheries management, the following organizations have been designated as members of the Committee : ECOWAS: Mr. Sanon Yacouba, COMESA: HE Mr. Gervais Nkanagu, ; CARICOM/CRFM: Mr. Milton Haughton, PIFS/FFA: Mr. Peter Philipson, CEEAC/ECCAS Mr. Georges Mba Asseko ,UEMOA , SADC and CEMAC
The second extension of the Programme Estimate 2 is granted by the ACP Secretariat and approved by the European Commission. Field activities can now continue untill the end of November 2013.

Mr. Bob Baldwin, Minister-Counsellor, Head of Section for Regional Development and Integration from the European Union Delegation to Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and for the Dutch Overseas Countries and Territories made an official visit to the RFU Caribbean Office, on December 4. The objective of the meeting was to update the Delegation on the status of Caribbean projects/activities and to strengthen linkages with the RFU and the Delegation.
The 3rd Regional Programme Monitoring Workshop and Training in Monitoring and Evaluation will take place in Rwanda (Kigali) , Suriname ( Paramaribo) , Mauritius (Mahebourg), Cape Vert (Praia), Cook Islands (Rarotonga) and Cameroon (Kribi).

The project title is: "Reorganization of the data management system and elaboration of an M&E scheme"
The assignment will therefore aim at reinforcing the capacity of data sorting and analysis of the DPPE of MFMR of Namibia in order to a make more effective and efficient DPPE policy devising and planning activities
Expected starting date is June 2012.
UPDATE: This contract was finally awarded to Vilhjálmur HALLGRÍMS SON , and started implementation last July 2012.
4th ACP Fish II Steering Committee Meeting will be held under the auspices of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) in Libreville, Gabon from 23 to 24 May 2012 at Okoume Palace Hotel.
The Meeting is expected to involve 65 participants : representatives of Fisheries Administrations from 14 countries of the region, namely, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu and from the most important Regional Fisheries Bodies (RFBs) and Regional Economic Communities (RECs), namely the Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) , the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) and the Western Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) plus invited stakeholders and the media.

The ACP Fish II Network Meeting on the theme “Promoting Commercial Aquaculture in Eastern Africa” is expected to involve 30 participants from Eastern Africa Fisheries Admisnistration, Regional Fisheries Bodies and Regional Economic Communities plus invited stakeholders and the media.
Participants from 15 CARIFORUM countries at the highest levels of Government and other fisheries stakeholders are gathering with a view to highlight the objectives and benefits of the Caribbean Community Common Fisheries Policy.

THEME: Fisheries Resources Management: the key challenges in the SADC region
25 representatives from Fisheries Administration of Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, and Zambia, the most important regional fisheries and economic organizations throughout Africa and the Caribbean such as SADC SEAFO, SWIOFC, COMESA, IOC, CEEAC and CFRM, The European Commission, ACP Secretariat and private stakeholders will participate.
1st and 2nd QUARTER NEWSLETTER 2011
May 30th 2011 is an important date for the ACP Fish II marking the end of PE1 and representing the half way point of the Programme. Preparations for PE2 have been underway for the last months but June 2011 marks the start of the second funding phase.

The Newsletter for the 1st Quarter of 2010 is now available for download on the website.
The Steering Committee meeting of 5 November 2010 has approved all of the documentation presented to it. This includes the second operational Programme Estimate (PE2) and the six Regional Action Plans. The ACP Fish II PMU, the European Commission and the ACP Secretariat will now proceed with the signature of PE2, enabling a smooth transition between Programme Estimates numbers 1 and 2 in the summer of 2011.
